Getting A Meter

CAPMI is the Credited Advance Payment for Metering Implementation. The CAPMI scheme is a metering acquisition scheme designed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and to eliminate estimated billings.

With CAPMI, customers are sure to put an end to estimated billing and are guaranteed the delivery and installation of a prepaid meter within 45 days. The cost of the meter would be refunded in form of credit units over a period of not more than 36 months. All you have to do is simply:

  • Go to the Business Hub nearest to you to collect a free form (IBEDC 74)
  • Fill and submit the meter application form (IBEDC 74) with a valid form of identification
  • Pay for the meter at any of our designated banks after getting the account details from any of our Business Hubs.
  • After payment, a photo copy of the bank teller should be attached to the form (74) and returned to the IBEDC Business Hub for registration.
  • The premises would be metered within 45 days as long as all procedures have been carried out.
