The Management of Ibadan electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Ogun Region appeals for the understanding and cooperation of our customers in Abeokuta and its environs for some disruptions they would be experiencing in the supply of electricity in the coming weeks. This is to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) embark on constructions and equipment upgrading at the Abeokuta 132KV/33KV Transmission station Ojere Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 2 x 30MVA (T1 and T2) transformers are going to be up-rated to 2 x 60MVA transformers to improve supply of electricity to Abeokuta and its environs but the decommissioning will be done one after the other. Presently 1 x 30MVA (T2) transformer has been decommissioned while the load on it will be transferred to second 30MVA (T1) transformer. The equipment upgrading is expected to last for some months.

During this period all our customers on these affected transformers will be receiving supply from the other 30MVA (T1) transformer which cannot accommodate all the required load demand of all our customers. The resultant effect is that there will be massive load shedding of supply to our esteemed customers during this period. However, we shall ensure equitable hours of electricity supply pending the time the project is completed.

Areas to be affected during this period includes Presidential Hill top, Obasanjo Hilltop, Lukosi, Abiola-way, Elite,  Obantoko, Alabata, Osi-ele, Eleweran, Asero, Lafenwa, Sabo, Mile 2, Rounder, Soyoye, Alamala, Ayetoro, Imeko and environs. Other would-be affected areas include Akinolugbade, Ake, Ijaye, Ijeja, Omida, Panseke, Oke-ilewo, Onikolobo, Adigbe, Sapon, Totoro, Adatan, Okejigbo and environs.

IBEDC regrets all inconveniences this exercise would cause our valued and esteemed customers, assuring that normal and improved power supply will be restored to Abeokuta and its environ as soon as the construction and upgrading work is completed.
