As part of IBEDC’s continued commitment to superior service delivery, the company has acquired a batch of brand new transformers and other network upgrade equipment worth over N1bn to be deployed across its franchise area. This is part of the company’s business strategy to continue with the revitalisation of its network infrastructure having inherited an outdated and obsolete grid from the now defunct PHCN. Speaking at a recent press briefing, the Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Engr. John Ayodele expressed his optimism in the growth of the sector. He stated “We have taken another step towards ensuring that our customers enjoy reliable supply through the purchase of transformers and equipment. Every day, we receive requests for transformers and this is to show that we as a customer-oriented company, remain committed to satisfying the needs of our customers.” He further added that all demands cannot be handled at the same time, hence customers should please be patient whilst assuring them that IBEDC will reach out to them soon. He also used the medium to appeal to customers to pay their bills promptly to enable the company have more funds to invest in infrastructure upgrade.

In a related development and in line with the culture of the company as an industry leader, IBEDC became the first distribution company in Nigeria to sign the conditions of service with the workers’ unions, NUEE & SSAEAC, heralding a new dawn in staff welfare. As expressed by the Managing Director/CEO Mr John Donnachie, “We lead continually by our core values: excellence, integrity, innovation, dependability and teamwork.
