The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has expressed yuletide greetings to its customers while urging them to observe safety precautions during the celebrations. IBEDC also said it will be open for business during the holidays. In a statement sent to Nigerian Tribune, the electricity distribution company said it wished its “esteemed customers a Merry Christmas and a joyous new year.” IBEDC said that, “For your convenience, we remain open throughout the holidays. Make enquiries, especially, report faults, pay your bills and vend across franchise as our engineers and technicians are on ground should any case arise. You can also use our hassle-free payment channels. “As a responsible corporate citizen, IBEDC implores our customers and the public to put the following safety precautions into practice to safeguard your lives and property as we celebrate Christmas and New Year. Switch off appliances when they are not in use, do not overload sockets and always unplug from the main source. Do not visit any recreation centre under high tension wires or beside electrical installations and report any fault to the nearest IBEDC office. The company also counselled customers and the public not to leave young children and wards without adequate supervision especially in public. IBEDC said it believes “in the sanctity of lives and value of properties. We appeal to all our customers to adhere to this call for safety while we celebrate.”
